PPC/Banner

Banner and PPC (Pay Per Click) advertising is a quick way to generate traffic to your website.  While SEO can take months to really see results with PPC you can start getting traffic immediately.

WARNING – if you don’t know what you are doing with PPC you will burn through cash very quickly.

Everyone thinks of GOOGLE when you mention PPC but they are not the only business in town.  Google controls 70-75% of “searches” online but only control about 20% of overall internet traffic.  That means there are a lot of other places on the internet to get traffic.

Google can be very difficult to use because they use a “quality score” system to determine pricing.  Click Here to learn all about Quality Scores.  Basically they rate your ad, click through rate and landing page to determine quality.  Advertisers with a higher quality pay less per click.  There is a common misconception that people in #1 Ad slot is paying the highest per click and that is not the case.   From our own experience we have seen big differences between #1 and #2 advertisers relating to cost per click.  In one particular ad we were in #1 position and paid $.53/click and the #2 spot (advertiser we know) was paying $.86/click.

We help you optimize your campaigns to maximize your click through rate and reduce your costs per click.  We perform split testing/optimization on your ads to find the ad that performs the best.

Google has 2 different options when placing your ads in their network – 1) Search  2) Content.  Below is a screenshot of Search and Content Advertising. (click on image to see full size)

Search

Content

With the Content Network you can actually target specific webpages to advertise on.  You can display both Text and Image Ads.    Let’s say you are a dentist located in Denver, Colorado.  You can find websites relating to your niche and display your ad.  You can use Geotargeting to only display the ad if people in Colorado are reading that particular website.  Here is a Tool that I use to find the websites.

Banner Advertising

So if Google only controls 20% of overall traffic where does the 80% come from?  It is from……Banners

Banner advertising is huge and you can put your ad on 1000′s of other websites for pennies.  There are 100′s of banner networks where you can setup an account and create your ads.

Here are 3 of them

I also use a slick little tool that finds potential sites I could advertise on.  Click Here for Tool – you can then contact these website owners and make them an offer to place your banner on their website.   You can easily place your banner on high traffic websites for $20.
